Research Process

Our team studied a well-known graphic designer, Experimental Jetset. Their work is integral to a broader graphical system. Rooted in a Modernist view with a preference for Helvetica and a monochromatic palette, they show minimalism and creativity in graphics design; translating language into authorship and self-expression.

After conducting throughout research on their artworks, we identified 3 key qualities that Experimental Jetset has employed in their works.

Design Process

Once our team finalized the designer qualities, we began the design process and began iterating on the poster designs. Below are some rough sketches that I created during this stage of the design process.

The Final Posters

These posters reflect the qualities that my team and I identified and developed.

The poster mainly focuses on the qualify of “Emphasis through splash of color .” Using a background and splashing a yellow-green elements help create visual impact. Like a dark room nightclub, light move in a rhythm to create sense of rhythm.

The poster primarily emphasizes the concept of "Asymmetry and movement through overlapping" by utilizing the overlapping of types and design elements. This technique aims to create asymmetry and manipulate negative space, drawing focus towards essential elements.
